7. State-run Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and South Korean steel major Posco agreed to jointly set up a 3-million-tonne integrated plant in India. This plant, to be established with an estimated investment of Rs. 18,000 crore would be set up in Jharkhand.

सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की कम्पनी स्टील अथॉरिटी ऑफ इण्डिया (SAIL) और दक्षिण कोरिया की प्रमुख स्टील निर्माता कम्पनी पॉस्को ने संयुक्त रूप से एक 30 लाख टन की क्षमता वाली एकीकृत स्टील उत्पादन इकाई भारत में स्थापित करने की योजना स्वीकृत की है। लगभग 18,000 करोड़ रुपए की लागत से स्थापित की जाने वाली यह इकाई झारखण्ड में लगाई जायेगी।

9. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) came up with its additional guidelines on ‘Interest Rates on Advances’. Banks have been allowed to review their base rate methodology three years after it has been finalised, down from the current five years. This is to provide banks greater operational flexibility to them.

भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक (आरबीआई) ने ऋण सम्बन्धी ब्याज दरों के सम्बन्ध में कुछ अतिरिक्त दिशानिर्देश जारी किए। अब बैंकों को बेस रेट से सम्बन्धित अपनी समस्त रीति-नीति की समीक्षा तीन वर्ष में करने का मौका मिलेगा जबकि अभी तक समीक्षा करने की यह समयावधि पाँच वर्ष की थी। इससे बैंकों को अपने संचालन और ऋण प्रदान करने की प्रक्रिया में अधिक लचीलापन मिल सकेगा।

10. The Reserve Bank allowed Indians to carry high value denomination notes while travelling to Nepal and Bhutan with a cap of Rs. 25,000 on the total amount. Indian citizens can now travel to the neighbouring countries with Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 denomination notes as well. Earlier, they were allowed to carry notes of only up to Rs. 100 denomination.
